LIQID Medical aims to introduce the first glaucoma drainage device, the QMAX, to circumvent the major sources of complications associated with current glaucoma treatment surgeries by facilitating the drainage of aqueous fluid into the retrolaminar space.

The goal of this innovative approach seeks to ensure that the patient's Intraocular Pressure (IOP) is automatically adjusted to match their intracranial pressure, thereby maintaining the optimal translaminar pressure difference. Moreover, it avoids the expenses and bleb-related complications often associated with bleb-forming devices.

Novel mechanism: Drains aqueous fluid into the
retrolaminar space.

  • Prevent bleb-related complications and failures
  • Eliminate the need for Mitomycin C
  • Intended to maintain balanced translaminar pressure
  • Designed for refractory glaucomas with unhealthy conjunctiva

“The QMAX has tremendous potential to overcome the limitations of current glaucoma procedures. It may become one of the leading methods to manage glaucoma surgically in the future.”
